Geelhoutbos is nestled in the Geelhoutboom river valley underneath white stinkwood, Cape wild fig and Outeniqua yellowood trees.

The accommodation  consists of five fully furnished chalets with cutlery, crockery, linen, towels and gas appliances, sleeping six persons each.

 

The following information serves to make your stay a pleasant one. Your co-operation is much appreciated.

  • Chalets have to be occupied   no later than 20:00. Upon arrival please report to the office at Geelhoutbos. Chalets must be vacated before 12:00.
  • A parking area for visitor vehicles at the office area. NO vehicles to be parked at chalet.
  • Pets and fireworks are strictly forbidden. All firearms must be declared upon arrival at office.
  • Toilet paper, matches, torches and candles are not provided.
  • Visitors are liable for any damage to furniture and equipment. This will be payable before departure.
  • There are no shops in the nearby vicinity. Make sure all supplies are brought along.
  • There is no electricity in the chalets. Gas appliances will be in working order upon arrival. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE THESE TO BE TAMPERED WITH. The officer on duty must be notified immediately in case of a problem. Take care when operating the appliances as the cottages are constructed of timber.
  • Consider your neighbours at all times.
  • " Pack in, pack out" . What you bring along, you must take back.   No littering.
  • Firewood is not provided. Please help prevent veld fires.
  • Take only pictures and leave only footprints.
  • Enjoy nature. No flowers, plant or animal material may be damaged or removed.
  • The mountain passes in the Baviaanskloof are dangerous - Drive carefully. After heavy rain the river crossings may be flooded, making the road impassable.
