Fourteen camp sites await where the Gamtoos River deepens to 11 meters in the ancient embrace of an Enon Conglomerate cliff.  Stay over at Geelkrans Campsite while exploring the Baviaans Wilderness area, only 28 km down the road. An Ideal setting for birdwatchers, stargazers, photographers, nature-lovers and casual fishermen.

We do not allow:

* day visitors

* pets

* damaging of the environment in any way

* audible broadcasting/fireworks/firearms.

* the use of Quads

Also by prior arrangement:
  • Queen Victoria 4x4 route (guided, 13 km): Relax under a canopy of Wild plum trees (Pappea Capensis) while the view of the Valley takes your breath away.
  • "Biddebos": A very basic hikers' hut with flush toilet, rain tank and spacious under-cover braai. A getaway night or weekend at Biddebos is for those who do not need luxury while experiencing the Kouga's indigenous plant- and bird life.
  • Hiking the Queen Victoria route or shorter trails around Biddebos.

Directions from Port Elizabeth:

Take the N2 towards Cape Town.

Take the Hankey turn-off (R331)

Drive through Loerie, Hankey, Patensie
