The Gamtoos Valley has become a very popular tourist destination with many B&B's self-catering and camping establishments, as well as fuel-stops, banks and shops to choose from. It is also the Southern Gateway to the Baviaanskloof Wildernes Area.

  • Gamtoos B&B
    We are situated in the Gamtoos Valley in the village of Patensie which is the last stop and gateway to the magnificent and undisturbed Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve, a World Heritage site.
  • Quagga Guest Rooms
    Quagga Guest Rooms offers ideal accommodation when visiting the Gamtoos Valley on business. The guest Rooms are situated on a farm, 7km from the town of Patensie.
  • Loerie Ruskamp Campsite
    Loerie Ruskamp has a three star grading and is situated just outside the town of Loerie, en route to Baviaans Kloof via Hankey and Patensie. Self catering accommodation, totalling 74 beds, are provided in various chaletts, rondawels and hostel. A small hall is available for small conferences and parties. The stone bar, with bar license, avialable for music events. This is the ideal venue for large group functions or a number of small groups. Most of the accommodation units are away from each other, making it more private and venues quite different from other venues.
  • Bergrivier
    Experience a true eco-retreat where you can relax in one of the most tranquil settings nature has to offer. Bergrivier is situated in beautiful, peaceful surroundings at the beginning or end of the Baviaanskloof route.
  • Gonjah Campsite
    The chalet is fully equipped for self catering and is set amongst beautiful indigenous forest at the heart of a tranquil valley or ‘kloof’. There are a lounge, two small bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds making room for up to 4 guests.
  • Kouga Wilderness Campsite
    Kouga Wilderness is a family run farm and the Ferreiras has been living on “Kleinrivier” since 1815. It is a working farm with apricots, citrus, sheep and vegetables. You can enjoy nature in the scenic Kouga mountains on the border of the Baviaanskloof World Heritage site. The farm was originally split up into 3 parts, “Onderplaas”, “Kleinrivier” and “Bo-plaas”. Bo-plaas became the property of Nico and Melodie Ferreira in 1988. On this part there was an old farm house that was sadly falling apart. The idea of having a guest house started here, but was only realised in 2000 when the house was finally restored to its formed beauty. Soon after the owners had their first visitors it became a hot spot for mountain climbers, hikers and nature lovers. In 2004 the ablution facilities was built and 8 camp-sites was put up under the shades of 4 big old oak trees. In 2005 a big lapa followed where there have been many weddings since. In 2007 the owners decided to built the “River chalet” and in 2008 the “Heuningkrans chalet” followed.

  • Kudu Kaya Chalets
    We are in Cambria, 45 km from Patensie, on the road to Willowmore, at the entry to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area. The chalets are both located on the working citrus farm "Ysrivier", owned by Petrus and Helene van der Watt. Enjoy our hospitality in a safe environment. Day trips into the adjacent Baviaanskloof Nature Conservation Area to view wild animals and the magnificent scenery can be arranged.
  • HeronCliff Guest House
    Heroncliff Self Catering Chalet is a fully equipped self catering house in Patensie area on the road to the Baviaans Mega Nature Reserve . The house sleeps seven guests comfortably. It has three bedrooms with two bathrooms, a kitchen with a dining area and lounge with a stoep which has a a fully equipped braai area.
