The guest cottage is fully equipped with linen, towels and electrical appliances and can sleep 6 - 8 people. A rustic lapa shelters the braai facility where ample wood is provided.  A telephone is available for emergency calls, but there is no cell phone coverage.  Privacy and tranquillity are guaranteed.

Die Skoolhuis is situated at the South Eastern entrance to the Baviaanskloof, 1 km off the R331,

42 km NW of Patensie, 120 km NW of Port Elizabeth and 92 km NW of Jeffrey's Bay.

Drive through the scenic Gamtoos Valley and discover the Baviaanskloof, Kouga and Great Winterhoek mountains.  Spectacular kloofs are adorned with waterfalls and indigenous forest. *

Game and bird watching, cycling and hiking are some of the ways in which to spend one's time. Enjoy the majestic mountain scenery by either doing one of the 4 x 4 routes or the hiking trail in the Wilderness Area.

The cottage is situated on a working citrus farm.  A small mountain stream runs past the cottage and enhances the private and peaceful setting.  The nearby farm trails and kloofs can be explored on foot, depending on the physical ability/fitness of each individual.  Things to do: 4x4 routes, hiking, sight-seeing, game & bird watching, canoeing (Wilderness Area); private 4x4 routes - all to be booked well in advance.

The Baviaanskloof should preferably be travelled by 4x2 'bakkie' since the route can become quite rugged - but with beautiful mountain scenery - really worth the effort.  Ample accommodation is available along the route.
