Seven spacious tents, each on a wooden platform, provide accommodation for fourteen people.  (Smaller tents for children can be arranged.) The tents are far apart and overlook a small stream. Conference facilities are also available.

Bedding and towels are included and hot water showers and flush toilets add to the comfort of the campers.  There is no cell phone reception or electricity, but gas and oil lamps, lanterns and the camp fire provide ample light for when the sun goes down.

This camping experience is a nature lover's paradise.  Marked hiking trails meander among indigenous trees such as yellow wood, stink wood, sneeze wood, Cape ash and wild olive.  One can follow the valley or go up the mountain till one finds a variety of fynbos and protea species.

The word Tia-Ghee is the Khoi-san word for secluded and  Gonjah is the Khoi-san word for "blaasopsprinkaan", a grasshopper from the family Pneumoridae. This bright green insect has a loud croak like a frog with which the male calls the females at night.

Bring your camera and binoculars and be on the lookout for wild creatures such as bush buck, nyala, impala, baboons, caracal, etc., as well as various birds, African olive pigeons, Knysna loeries, barbets and hoopoes, among others. The services of a trained nature guide are available at an additional fee.

Tia Ghee is operated as a dinner, bed and breakfast concern and no self-catering is allowed.  Light lunches can be provided on request.  Snacks are available at the kiosk.  Booking is essential.

Game drives in the surrounding veld and 4x4 trips can be arranged.  Visits to working citrus farms can also be scheduled on week days.

Follow the main route from Patensie to the Baviaans for 9km to the  'Gonjah - Moos se Kloof' turn off.
